What is a Knob and Tube Electrical Audit?

Homes that have knob and tube wiring originally (pre 1950?s) will at this point have had electrical work done through out the years and therefore will most likely have mixed wiring. Some original and some more recently installed. It is very rare to find a home that has had no electrical upgrading of any kind.

An electrical audit is a detailed inspection of your homes wiring system to determine precisely which devices/points (switches, receptacles, lights etc.) need to be replaced with new wiring and which do not.

The electrical audit will also point out any electrical safety issues that are noticed during the inspection. The electrical service and electrical panel will also be inspected. Every Audit will have diagrams of each level of your home and each device will be clearly indicated location and status.

This report will contain the information you need to educate your self on your electrical system status and provide to any electrical contractor the data that they need to accurately quote on your project.
